Sunshine, golf and kids in need was the recipe for a Sunday well spent at the Mobility Impaired Golf Association’s (MIGA) Bump and Go Charity Golf Classic at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course.
According to MIGA’s website:
“MIGA provides ongoing golf clinics, along with private and group lessons, year round for children and young adults physically and mentally challenged at Lake Oswego Public Golf Course. All is at no charge with golf clubs and equipment provided.”
The tournament raised money to fund MIGA’s programs and offered participants the chance to get to know some of MIGA’s young golfers.

Dr. Thorsland and EyeStyles Clinic Director Phil DeYoung had the pleasure of meeting and playing part of their round with a MIGA student named Adam. Golf is a sport both Dr. Thorsland and DeYoung have played since a young age. The tournament offered a unique opportunity for them to share their love of the sport and help provide access to MIGA kids like Adam who would not be able to participate otherwise.
EyeStyles donated an Eye Makeover to the tournament’s charity auction: a complete pair of eyeglasses, eye exam and a pair of prescription sunglasses. EyeStyles is proud to support worthy causes like MIGA in the Portland area.
